Cuts Point ("we", "us", "our") operates the Cuts Point website (https://streamaifrontend.netlify.app) and the Cuts Point Chrome extension (also known as ViralMoment AI for search and listings). This Privacy Policy describes personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to users of the Chrome extension and website who create an account, sign in, or start a video analysis job with Cuts Point.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Account sign-in (email and password)
To create an account or sign in, the extension and website collect your email address and password that you enter in the sign-in or sign-up form.
- Collection: Email and password are submitted when you register or sign in.
- Handling: Authentication is performed by our auth provider, Supabase Auth. Passwords are transmitted over HTTPS to Supabase and stored by Supabase using industry-standard secure hashing. We do not store your password in plain text on our servers, and the Chrome extension does not keep your password after the sign-in request.
- Usage: To create and secure your account, verify identity, reset passwords, and associate your analysis jobs with your account.
- Sharing: Email (and authentication credentials as needed for auth) are processed by Supabase on our behalf. We do not sell your email or password. We do not share your password with third parties for marketing.
2.2 Session and login tokens
After sign-in, we store session/access tokens (for example JWT access and refresh tokens) in extension storage and/or browser local storage so you stay signed in. These tokens are used only to call our API and auth services as you.
2.3 Video URLs and analysis jobs
When you start a scan, we collect the YouTube or Twitch video URL you submit, job status, and generated highlight timestamps / rankings (for example start/end times, scores, and short reasons). This data is used to run analysis and show you results in the extension and on the website.
2.4 Optional YouTube browser cookies (extension only)
If you grant the optional cookies permission in Chrome, we may read YouTube-related browser cookies from your signed-in YouTube session and send them to our backend only for that analysis job, so our server can access the video content needed to detect highlight moments (for example when YouTube requires a signed-in session).
- We ask for your permission first; cookies access is optional.
- We do not collect your Google or YouTube password through the cookie flow.
- We do not sell cookie data. Job-related cookie material is used for processing your request.
2.5 Website and product cookies / local storage
We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences (including cookie consent), and provide basic site and extension functionality.
2.6 Support communications
If you email us, we collect the information you include (such as email address and message content) to respond to support requests.
3. How we use data
- Provide account registration, sign-in, and password reset
- Run AI-assisted highlight detection and show timestamped results
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, and debug failures
- Respond to support requests
- Improve product reliability (for example processing errors and job status)
Cuts Point’s product purpose is to find and rank highlight moments (timestamps) in videos you choose. It is not a YouTube or Twitch media downloader product for saving full videos or unauthorized copies of copyrighted media.
4. Service providers and sharing
We share data only as needed to operate Cuts Point:
- Supabase — authentication (email/password accounts, sessions) and related backend data storage for jobs/highlights.
- Our API hosting (for example Railway) — processes analysis jobs you start.
- OpenAI — may process transcript or highlight-ranking inputs derived from the video you submitted, solely to generate ranked moment suggestions.
- Hosting providers for the website (for example Netlify).
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Data retention
- Account data (email / auth account): retained while your account is active. You may request deletion by contacting us.
- Sessions: until you sign out, tokens expire, or you clear extension / browser storage.
- Jobs and highlights: retained to show your history while your account exists; temporary processing files may be deleted after job completion.
- Optional YouTube cookies for a job: used to process that job and not retained longer than needed for processing and related retries.
6. Security
We use HTTPS for network traffic. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth with secure hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can decline optional cookie permission in the extension
- You can sign out and clear site/extension storage
- You can uninstall the Chrome extension at any time — see Uninstall
- You can request access, correction, or deletion of account data by emailing cutspointofficial@gmail.com
8. Children's privacy
Cuts Point is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International processing
Our providers may process data in the United States or other countries. By using Cuts Point, you understand your information may be processed in those locations subject to applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
